County permit, not a city one
Kendall has no city building department, so Miami-Dade RER issues the demolition permit. A whole house or a detached structure goes in as category 15 on the county application, with the square footage and a contact sheet.
When the piece coming down is attached to a house that stays, the county files it under category 02. That one asks for detail plans showing which electrical and plumbing connections get removed. Old pools and screen enclosures
Many Kendall backyards have a pool under an aluminum screen cage, and the cage comes down first. We unbolt the panels, cut the posts at the deck and send the aluminum to metal recycling.
Then the pool. Take an enclosure of 30 × 50 ft: that covers 1,500 sq ft with the pool and deck inside. One county detail matters here. On unincorporated folios, the ones that start with 30, removing every impervious surface can earn a credit on the Stormwater Utility fee. Ask us at the visit when a whole lot is being cleared.
